Anne Meara the incredibly gifted comedienne-actress is known for her efforts alongside husband-comedian, Jerry Stiller; together, they were 'Stiller and Meara'. They gained popularity on The Ed Sullivan Show (1948). Meara went on to a variety of television roles, notably the Golden Globe-winning Sally Gallagher in Rhoda (1974), and Veronica Rooney in Archie Bunker's Place (1979). She was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female for her performance as Sue Berlin in Judy Berlin (1999).
